January Kids Class Projects
Kids necklace!
For this we used 2 pieces of hodgepodge and some shrink it.
We stamped our image and then shrank it in the toaster oven. (I love that part!) Then we used 2 eyelets to sandwich all 3 pieces together and added the chain.
How simple and cute is that!!
~I think I may make some more and add some dangly beads to the bottom. ~

Stamping 101
*But I still trim my die cut stamps :0)*
Next I lay out my blocks and spray them with a wood sealer like Krylon Spray sealer. You can purchase sealers from Micheals, (don't forget your coupon!) Wal-Mart, Home Depot just to name a few. Give them a few coats. This helps to protect your wood from getting stained from the ink.
Use good scissors to cut out the image of your stamp. Keep close to the image. Cut in small, straight snips. Don't turn your scissors for the curves, if you do the the foam underneath will be cut on an angle and you won't get a nice image when you stamp especially with word stamps.

Mini Candy Apples
A few weeks ago I received an e-mail from Family Fun. They had a recipe for mini candy apples. Hmmm, I thought I have an apple tree and anything mini has to be cute, so I clicked on it and decided that I HAD to make them. But for who? Well how about my son's PreK class, OK but why would I need to make them. Imagine my happiness that when I looked at his calender and saw Apple Day. Yee Haw I get to make the Mini Candy Apples!!!
Mini Candy Apples: Take a melon baller and scoop out a chunk of apple with the skin. Melt your choice of peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips. Take some lollipop sticks (you can get them from Micheals) and stick them in your little apples then, dunk them into the melted chips and into your favorite coating, I used the little sprinkles.
I'll find out later how they went over at school!
